I've yet to find a good video of it, but a sound from the intro (and from Briggs' introduction to Darkmere) is taken from Clive Barker's Undying, specifically a scene where the protagonist of that game performs a spell to travel through time to a medieval monastery. It's a distinctive chant/bell ring. Can anyone provide a good example? Wields-Rulebook-Heavily 16:32, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

The music in the "Bonus DVD- Part 1" trailer definitely isn't from Hexen- I'm familiar with all of the Hexen tracks (including Sycraft's high quality versions) and none of them match the music in that trailer at any point. The music in the trailer sounds like it uses similar high quality MIDI synthesizing to Sycraft's version of the Hexen tracks, which is probably where the suspicion arose from. Possible sound theft from Heretic II[]

I am posting this youtube link

Specifically at 5:49 of the video, the sound "I get his Liver". I have recognised that it comes from Heretic II. It is the sound of one of the insane villagers telling others to attack the player, on the first level.

More stolen shit.[]

I can confirm that the swinging cage sound effect is stolen, however it's present in the original Return to Castle Wolfenstein, out in the town after you leave Kessler's house and the bar. A few streets later, there's a swinging sign (which you can destroy) that makes the exact same sound.

Oh, and the applause at the beginning of the ending is present in Return of the Incredible Machine: Contraptions (when you solve a puzzle), although it may be from a stock SFX resource.

Music in the first video[]

The music in the first video on this page sounds really similar to one of the boss battle soundtracks from Rune.

edit: I've found it on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlV4vy0SP5A&list=PLD133EC73F67AA5C8
